Hi there! I’m Ms. Bertina,

I’m the owner of Bright Path Virtual Academy, and I’ll also be your child’s personal preschool teacher. From the moment you join, I’ll be here to guide, support, and stay in close contact to make sure your child’s online learning experience is amazing!

Teaching has been my lifelong dream. For the past 21 years, I’ve had the joy of working with children, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a focus in early childhood education, which gives me a deep understanding of how children learn and thrive. As a former site director, I worked alongside talented educators and partnered with families to create nurturing, supportive learning environments. I’ve also served as an instructional coach, helping both teachers and families enhance their educational experiences.

I’m passionate about helping every child reach their full potential. At Bright Path, we celebrate each child’s uniqueness while building the skills and confidence they need for a bright future.

1. Do I need to buy any supplies for my child to participate?

No special supplies are required! We keep things simple and affordable. You’ll receive a Bright Path Curriculum Box filled with all the hands-on materials your child will need for the month. Everything your child needs for class is included inside the box.

2. How much screen time will my child have each day?

Our program is designed to keep screen time short, meaningful, and interactive. Each class runs 45 minutes and focuses on active learning, not passive watching. Children sing, move, create, and follow along with hands-on materials, so screen time stays engaging and developmentally appropriate.

3. Will my child really learn through an online class?

Absolutely! Bright Path lessons are carefully structured to match how young children learn best,through play, repetition, movement, hands-on exploration, and positive connection with a caring teacher. Every lesson builds early literacy, math readiness, social skills, and confidence in a fun, age-appropriate way.

4. What if my child is shy or doesn’t want to talk on camera?

That is completely normal! Many preschoolers start out shy, and we never force them to speak. Your child can participate quietly at their own pace. Over time, most children naturally open up as they get comfortable with the routine and with me (their teacher!). We celebrate every step, big or small.

5. What do I need at home to make online preschool work?

All you need is:

A phone, tablet, or computer

A stable internet connection

A quiet space for your child to learn

We take care of the rest! You’ll get your Zoom link, your password, and your curriculum materials,all ready to go.

6. What if my child can’t sit still for long?

That’s completely okay,this is normal for ages 3–5! Our classes are designed with movement, songs, interactive activities, and hands-on tasks that keep children engaged. We switch activities often, so your child never stays in one spot for too long. Many parents notice their child’s attention span improves over time.

7. How can an online preschool be as effective as a local preschool?

Online preschool works because children still get interactive lessons, hands-on activities, and personal attention,just like in a traditional classroom. Bright Path teaches all the same kindergarten-readiness skills (letters, numbers, social skills, fine motor skills, and more) in a fun, engaging way.
